This summer young farmers toured Belgium with a pink Valtra tractor and trailer in order to attract attention to the low producer prices in agriculture.
From August 9 to September 7 the tractor toured sixteen local markets throughout Flanders with a unique concept: customers could decide themselves how much to pay for the agricultural products on sale. The campaign was organized by the Belgian young farmers’ association Green Circle. Its aim was to raise consumer awareness of the actual cost of producing agricultural products, and it generated a considerable amount of media publicity. You can follow the route of the pink tractor at www.sosvoedselprijzen.be and the hashtags #sosvoedselprijzen or #TractorRoza.
The Valtra tractor participating in the campaign is the same “Pink Cat” N163 Direct used by the Finnish Young Farmers’ association to promote passion in agriculture.
