RainWise, Inc. Attends Exclusive Sustainable Intensification Event in Brazil
Trenton, ME -- RainWise, Inc. recently attended Sustainable Intensification 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This closed event was organized by Challenge Advisory of London, UK., and focused on planning the steps to meet Brazil’s ambitious goals for sustainable agriculture development by 2020. RainWise, in partnership with Weather Underground and alongside leading representatives from across agricultural business sectors, served as sponsors for the event, sitting on panel discussions and meeting with roughly 600 delegates, policy makers and stakeholders. RainWise VP of Strategic Partnerships, Alex Birdsall, was invited to join a panel discussion on precision farming, while John Celenza, Director of Weather Labs at Weather Underground, contributed to a panel on irrigation and water management.
“Weather is the single most influential and complex factor impacting agricultural activities throughout the year,” Alex said at the event. “Brazil’s plan to improve overall yield per resource consumed in the future will demand a larger and more integrated set of ground weather data. With that in mind, we are excited to join this project with Weather Underground, who has the capacity to bring the most impactful insight to bear on RainWise sensor data through their services.” Since this event, RainWise has been persuing scientific, commercial and educational relationships in Brazil to progress the goals set out from the event and is looking forward to continuing to build these relationships for years to come.
