REDWAVE in the Big Apple
Redwave Solutions US, the new subsidiary of REDWAVE (Austria) starts-up in America
In recent years, REDWAVE has crystallized into a leading provider of sensor-based sorting technology. Customers worldwide now have available both standard as well as customized solutions from sensor-based sorting machines to complete turnkey recycling plants.
America is characterized as a profit-making market with strong growth potential throughout the environmental and recycling sector. Currently some 150 REDWAVE machines are already sorting waste in the United States. In order to serve the American market more effectively in the future, in December 2013 BT-Wolfgang Binder founded a subsidiary in New York under the name of Redwave Solutions US. The company is currently in the development phase. Both sales activities and after-sales service form the core business of the American subsidiary. The ability to respond more quickly to sales inquiries, provision of services and supply of spare parts, as a result of being closer to the customer, should lead to increased sales and improved customer loyalty..
Interview with the Sales Directors at Redwave Solutions US:
Can you give me a short introduction?
Christopher and I both have more than 16 years each in the supply of recycling equipment in this industry. We have known each other and have been friends for about as long. Most recently we had the opportunity to work together for the past 5 years and we found that we have a good balance of skill sets that complement each other and the business that we pursue.
What was your reason for starting this company?
Our reason for starting this company was to form a company, based in the US, to replicate and build on the success that REDWAVE have already established in North America with the glass plants and the sorters that we have sold for REDWAVE into our MRF applications for sorting plastic and paper. This new company will build on these previous successes while also being able to support past customers in a more local manner.
Can you tell me something about your goals for the next years?
Our plans/goals are to become a leader in the sales, design, and installation of turn-key MRFs as well as a supplier of sorting solutions into other specialized and developing markets such as plastics recycling, Waste to Fuel and other opportunities that present themselves to us.
What is the current market situation in America?
The market situation in the US is very competitive with many companies that have already established themselves as fully integrated MRF builders, but with the core technology of REDWAVE that we offer, we will have a fairly established reputation as certainly as one of the best options.
