SGS soil testing lab in Voronezh has been accredited
The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Russian Federation accredited the new agrochemical laboratory of SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian subsidiary of SGS, for technical competence and independence. The accreditation scope includes soils and crops (wheat, rye, barley, oats, maize, buckwheat, millet, pea, sunflower, rape).
The accreditation certificate РОСС RU.0001.21ПШ82 from 30.12.2009 will be valid for five years.
In particular, the Soil Testing Laboratory in Voronezh is able to provide the clients with basic parameters such as pH, N, P, K, and extended soil testing for S, Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu, Mn, B, Na.
The new agrochemical laboratory of SGS Vostok Limited is unique by the fact that it is equipped by most modern and high-tech devices, which allow to strongly boost analysis speed. For example, analysis of one soil sample for phosphorus and potassium in SGS facility in Voronezh will take a maximum of 15 minutes, for nitrogen – about 2 hours, whereas in a traditional laboratory it would take from 2 to 3 days.
Thanks to the new lab SGS offers complex approach to soil fertility management resulting in electronic field maps for each soil nutrient value and recommendations on application of fertilizers and crop protection agents.
Equivalent SGS facilities have been already successfully working in the USA and in Europe. Nowadays, the soil fertility service became accessible to Russian farmers to help them to save money, improve crop yield, and minimize negative environmental impact.
