SP concentrates food expertise


On 1 January 2015, SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden will integrate the subsidiary SIK – the Swedish Institute for Food and Biotechnology and form a new unit within the SP Group. The aim is to create integrated and stronger expertise within the field of food. The integration means that SIK will cease to exist as a separate company, but the business will continue to be based in Gothenburg, Lund, Linköping and Umeå under the new name SP Food and Bioscience.

The new unit will have approximately 95 employees, of which approximately one third are educated to research level.  The balance between services, innovation and research will be good, with an emphasis on the first two areas.
