Still remaining capacities for hiring the PlanET Mini Digester
The PlanET Mini Digester has already been successfully used as trial plant in Germany, UK, Canada and Brazil. Its technique has furthermore been exported to Ghana.
PlanET has started a three months trial for a client in Cambridgeshire to collect data for optimising the design of the full-scale plant. During the trial a wide variety of organic materials, amongst others pig and cow slurry, a variety of fruit and vegetable residues and trimmings and oil and fats, will be digested. The goal of the trial is to evaluate the gas yield of the various materials, and if the available wastes and residues are profitable substrates for a biogas plant.
'The PlanET Mini Digester has successfully been used to digest various organic materials and substrate mixtures from agricultural and industrial sources', Stephan Hoffmann, PlanET project manager for the UK, explains. 'The PlanET Mini Digester has been designed to give potential clients an easy entry into biogas technology and to test the potential of different substrates before designing the full-scale plant. By testing substrate compositions and collecting data before planning your full-scale biogas plant, we are able to optimise the design and increase the efficiency when operating under real conditions', Hoffmann stresses out. The engineer points out that a wide variety of organic matter is suitable for anaerobic digestion. 'In addition to the 'typical' substrates for the production of biogas like maize or grass silage and animal slurry and manure, fats and oil, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, cereals, animal by-products, catering waste, sludge from purification plants, slaughterhouse waste and several residues from the food and drinks industry provide a good basis for biogas production and have been successfully utilised by PlanET Biogastechnik in the past'.
