EPIC - The Vancouver Sun Sustainable Living Expo opens this week and the world as you know it may never be the same.

Western Canada's largest lifestyle show for the eco-conscious consumer, EPIC will feature over 300 exhibitors with inspiring ideas and products, exciting entertainment, and smart shopping all crammed into one jam-packed weekend.

Hundreds of earth-friendly businesses will be on hand providing expert advice on greening your home. Bring your re-usable shopping bags and shop the EPIC exhibit floor for lots of great deals.

You can also learn how to make sound choices when shopping for products and services that are better for the environment.

You will discover which companies are leading the change in sustainable consumer goods and producing earth-friendly products without compromising style or function.

Says Nancy Wright, Executive Director 'we've seen an explosion of new products and services on the market since we first launched this event five years ago. More and more companies are factoring in the environmental footprint and health impacts of their products.'

'EPIC is the place where not only you can see new and exciting products all in one place, but make a statement by putting your dollars where your values are when you purchase them' she added, 'this is how consumers can use their power to support companies who are doing the right thing.'

There will be a daily Fashion Show in the Fashion Zone with, DIY Sewing Workshops, and an Eco-Wedding Showcase.

Says Chris Livingstone, EPIC's Sales Manager 'this year's theme is Ocean Conservation and we'll have a number of things at the event in support of that, including several ocean-themed presentations on our Main Stage and an extensive art exhibit among others.'

Contests will abound throughout the weekend. George Stroumboulopoulos, one of the most admired and respected journalists in Canada will lead an all star cast of Main Stage speakers, including Richard Louv, an award-winning journalist and the author of seven books about the connections between family, nature and community.

Erin Cebula, Arts and Entertainment Reporter with BC's Global BC and former host of HGTV's reality hit show 'Makeover Wish' will also be featured on the Main Stage.

The doors to EPIC open on Friday, May 13 at 1pm in the NEW Vancouver Convention Centre West Building, one the greenest convention centers in the world.

EPIC 2011 runs from 11am - 7pm on Saturday, May 14 and from 11am - 5pm on Sunday, May 15th.
