New to the event is an International Visitors Lounge, located within one of the main exhibition halls, which will act as a focal point for buyers from overseas. In addition, an export seminar will be staged with the event’s principal sponsor, Barclays on the morning of the second day, Thursday, to which all British based companies are invited.
“The UK agricultural export market is valued at more than £12 billion per year and the livestock sector makes up a significant part whilst globally this country is renowned for the quality of its science and practical application of technology along with its superior livestock genetics,” comments RABDF Events chief executive, Nick Everington.
“RABDF working with UKTI is enabling the Livestock Event to provide the biggest opportunity in the 2014 calendar for worldwide promotion of individual companies in the livestock sector and the potential to develop additional income from export sales. Last year, the Livestock Event attracted representatives from 22 different countries, a figure we hope to exceed in July.”
UKTI’s John Otter commented: “This is a great opportunity to get the message out that UKTI can assist UK companies in this sector either to export for the first time or break into new markets. UK agri-food production and processing technologies are amongst the most advanced in the world - and they should be being exported worldwide. Being at the Livestock Event enables us to meet companies with an interest in looking to grow and develop sales overseas and explain how UKTI could help them.'
