Overview:
Overview:
The SS Extreme is the newest addition to our skid steer mulching line. Designed to be paired with the largest 110 HP skid steers, it has the largest and most robust drive system of any disc mulcher available.
Reduction Shroud System: This unique feature allows the disc to force material into fixed cutting teeth located in the shroud resulting in fresh, clean mulch.
Direct Drive System: The SS Extreme has our largest bearing box, coupled with an oversized 5” heat treated, tapered drive shaft. This direct drive system is custom built with crusher style bearings which are constantly lubricated through an oil bath system. The power is sent from a 130cc bent axis hydraulic piston motor through a 10” rubber isolator drive coupling to absorb any shock loads sent from the bearing box. We also utilize a large drive hub mounted to the 58” cutting disc that mates to the tapered shaft with a double locking fastening system.
Ease of Maintenance: The SS Extreme mulcher is a direct drive system with no belts, pulleys or sheaves. With 1,000 hrs between bearing box oil changes you can focus your time on maintaining cutting teeth and getting the job done.
BENEFITS:
BENEFITS:
BEAVER TEETH: 8 on top, 14 on perimeter. The Beaver Tooth has straight edges, is durable, and can be re-sharpened right on the blade. TIP: Rotating beaver teeth increases wear life.
CARBIDE THUMBNAIL TEETH: 16 teeth bottom, 16 holders top, 16 holders bottom. The Carbide Thumbnail Tooth is designed for durability and placed at the bottom of the cutting disc to handle the tough environment.
BOTTOM TOOTH HOLDER DELETE KITS: Included to cover self-locating extension tooth holder locations.
OPTIONAL EXTENSION TOOTH COMBO KIT:
This kit is recommended for more aggressive mulching. It includes (7) selflocating tooth holders, (6) carbide bullet teeth and (6) carbide faced shark teeth. The disc is machined with (6) counter-bored locations designed to accept this holder. The Extension Tooth Combo Kit is recommended at the time of purchase but can be added later.
Shark Tooth: High - efficiency extension cutting tooth, not recommended for use in rock.
Carbide Bullet Tooth: Medium - efficiency extension cutting tooth that holds up well in rock conditions. The use of the bullet tooth can result in more material being thrown at greater distances.
*Tooth types can be mixed for different patterns as long as the same tooth is placed on the opposite side of the disc (180 degrees of each other). A bottom tooth holder delete kit must be in place when operating without the extension teeth and holders.
