The special sugars range consists of arabinose and pectin based oligosaccharides and the organic acid range consists of galacturonic and galactaric acid.
The organic acids range consists of galacturonic and galactaric acid.
D-Galacturonic acid is a 100% GMO-free plant derived acid. It is directly produced from Cosun owned source materials in the controlled environment of the production facility of Cosun Biobased Products.
Galactaric acid, also named mucic acid, is the oxidized form of galacturonic acid. Galactaric acid is a di-acid and can be used directly to produce polymers and resins.
The special sugars range consists of arabinose and pectin based oligosaccharides.
L-Arabinose is a versatile and reactive sugar that is suitable for applications in flavours as reducing sugar in Maillard reactions and in food & beverages as a dietary and prebiotic sweetener.
Pectin based oligo saccharides
This product is a mixture of oligosaccharides containing arabinose, galactose, rhamnose and galacturonic acid. It can be used as low calory fibers in feed and food applications. Tests at Wageningen University have shown the following effects :
- The fibers are readily digested by the bacteria in the intestines.
- The fibers promote the growth of certain types of bacteria.
- The fibers are digested in the lower intestines and therefore have a dietary effect.
