The cab is spacious, quiet and it has excellent visibility to the cutting table. In addition, it has excellent driving ergonomics. With these features, even long work days are completed with ease.
The controls have been positioned conveniently in the arm rest integrated into the seat. Starting the threshing machinery and cutting table is very easy using centrally located switches. All of the controls and switches necessary during harvesting have been carefully positioned in the same location, the arm rest. The traction lever is used to control the driving direction and speed of the combine. All of the controls of the cutting table are also located on the traction lever. Even turning the unloading pipe is conveniently completed using the switches on the traction lever.
The controls that are not needed most of the time are located on the right side of the cab. They include, for example, the concave clearness, grain tank lid elevation and header reverse. Warning indicators are located on the column on the right. An audible tone will be emitted in the event of a hazardous situation.
Due to the low noise level in the cabin, a hands-free player could be included as standard with the combine. You can also receive calls, if you connect your mobile phone to the player via Bluetooth.
Comvision – all in one package
A real information centre has been fitted in the cabin's right column. Using the Comvision display, you can see all the necessary information on the combine and the engine.
The Comvision colour display is more than a mere display. It is a combination of an operating computer, loss indicator and engine indicator display. It will also display potential warnings from the threshing machinery. The system also includes area measurement. Other features include, for example, automation of the pick-up reel. If you want the pick-up reel to rotate slower or faster than the operating speed, you can adjust it using the Comvision display.
As the Comvision display is a touch screen display, you can calibrate the thresher loss indicator with it. You can determine the basic view. A the top of the screen, you can select four different types of rotation or speed indicators. The display is conveniently located by the traction lever within easy reach.
Even efficiency with a pre-threshing cylinder
The pre-threshing cylinder increases the efficiency of the machine without having to widen the machinery. Depending on the conditions, a C12 equipped with a pre-threshing cylinder is up to 20% more effective compared to a single-cylinder harvester. The pre-threshing cylinder significantly evens out the material flow to the main cylinder, enabling more efficient threshing. Under optimal conditions, up to 40% of threshing takes place at the pre-threshing cylinder. The resulting smoother threshing process notably reduces grain breakage.
The concave wire structure of Comia's pre-threshing cylinder is patented. It differs from the competition, as the concave can be separately adjusted. The adjustment is conveniently completed from the cabin using an electric motor. In order to ensure the best results, a concave that is as precise of a thresher as the concave for the main thresher cylinder is located under the pre-threshing cylinder.
The sturdy Heavy Duty thresher cylinder on the C10 and C12 ensures steady rotation even in the most demanding conditions. The 8 rasp bar cylinder has a diameter of 500 mm and a width of 1,330 mm. The thresher cylinder's flanges are made of cast iron: a feature that is not available from other manufacturers. Flanges have even been fitted behind the rasp bars. This feature eliminates the possibility that the cylinder would become unbalanced when restarting the machine after threshing. Since the cylinder flanges are made of cast iron and the counter bars are also reinforced, this thresher cylinder can well be called a Heavy Duty cylinder.
There are two different types of concaves. For threshing grain, there is a separate, thin-wired and precisely threshing concave. The Universal model has strong wires and it is intended for maize, soy and sunflower threshing.
The grain pan surfaces of the Comia C10 and C12 are made of durable stainless steel. The grain pan will last practically forever. The stainless grain pan surface also has low friction, so it does not accumulate dirt. The surfaces can be easily removed for cleaning even when out on the field, using a tool included with the machine.
Fan and shaker shoe
The large-diameter fan effectively blows to the shaker The speed of the fan can be conveniently adjusted from the cabin. The fan is also equipped with a handy bypass door, which can be opened if the fan effectiveness is to be reduced when, for example, threshing hay seeds.
The counter impact shaker shoe effectively separates the grain from the husks. At the same time, it results in much smoother running of the threshing machinery. The chaffer is of the modern RV2 lamella sieve type. On the RV2 lamella sieve, every other lamella is bent down. This efficiently prevents straw fragments from entering the grain tank.
The grain sieve is the RV3 lamella sieve. Both sieve models, the RV2 and RV3, can be left more than 30% more open than a regular sieve without having unclean grain enter the grain tank.
The sieves are both separately adjustable. The shaker shoe extension is also adjustable.
The new C10 and C12 include an unprecedented feature for separating returns. The returns are not taken to the thresher. Instead, they are taken through the re-thresher and are gently brought back into the machinery, almost below the concave. Instead of the traditional auger, the returns are transported to the re-thresher using an elevator. Due to the new structure, the grain pan is able to bring the re-threshed material to the shaker shoe in a controlled manner without interfering with the airflow of the fan.
CSP SEPARATION DRUM
If harvesting is performed in damp conditions or if the crop is green, high straw walker performance is essential. The CSP (Cylinder Separation) separation drum, located on top of the walkers, is designed to increase the separation capacity of the walkers.
The effectiveness of the separation drum can be adjusted based on the different varieties. The most common grains are threshed using the basic settings, but when threshing oil plants, for example, it may be good to adjust the angle of the separation drum tines. The angle adjustment can be completed from the right side of the harvester, under the side guard.
In Northern European harvesting conditions, the CSP separation drum achieves approximately a 20% efficiency increase at the walkers.
Sampo Rosenlew combines are famous for their excellent performance in the moist Northern European conditions. Straw walkers almost always determine the real efficiency of a harvester in these conditions. With Comia, the detachable bottoms of the walkers are made of stainless steel.
Comia C10 and C12 belong to the so-called five-walker size class. It is commonly acknowledged that more pairs of walkers increases walker performance. For this reason, Comia C10 and C12 have six walkers.
High-SPEED straw chopper
When harvesting with a wide cutting table, the straw mass is enormous. When the straws are cut, it is important that the cut straws are cut as small as possible and spread evenly back onto the field. Regardless of the cultivation method, an even and fine straw mass is always beneficial.
The Comia C10 and C12 are equipped with high-speed straw choppers. The large diameter of the rotor and nearly a 4,000 rpm speed easily chops the straw mass. A powerful straw spreader and adjustable wings ensure the straw is spread evenly.
If you are to collect the straw and you wish to disengage the chopper, the procedure is very easy. You simply turn a handle and a guard rail is positioned in front of the chopper. The chopper stops automatically, which has a significant effect on fuel consumption.
Easy to connect, recognised for its geometrics and fully hydraulic features. These features are available in the Comia line C10 and C12 harvesters. The nylon/plastic tines of the pick-up reel, which have been found to be effective, and the hydraulic header reverse put the finishing touches on this highly functional cutting table.
Thanks to years of careful design, whether the growth is tall or low, the Comia cutting table can easily handle it. The optimal distance from the knife to the feeder auger ensures uninterrupted feed to the machine's feeder elevator. The machine also comes equipped standard with a handy lateral tilt feature. Cutting table widths begin from 4.5 metres and go all the way up to 6.3 metres.
The Comia line uses modern bolt-on knife blades. In the event of a failure, you can easily replace a knife blade. The knife is operated by a belt-driven Wobble Box drive. WB knife operation is almost maintenance-free.
The large diameter of the feeder auger prevents wrapping in even the most demanding conditions. In order to achieve even feed, the number of fingers have been increased according to the table width. When fingers are spread evenly across the entire auger, even peak loads will not cause problems. The feeder auger is equipped with a slip clutch, which is located by the pulley.
The plastic pick-up reel tines ensure efficient and gentle feed even when harvesting laid-down crops. If a plastic tine breaks off, for example, dueto stone impact, the threshing mechanism will not be damaged in any way.
The pick-up reel adjustments are hydraulically operated. Pick-up reel automation comes standard in the C10 and C12.
The feeder elevator is equipped with a three-chain elevator. The elevator feeder bars have been divided into two sections in order to ensure even feed to the threshing cylinder. The significance of this feature is especially highlighted when threshing corn. The feeder elevator is equipped with large service doors. The service door can be removed from the top axle, for example, which allows for easier cleaning.
The powerful hydraulic motor that operates the header reverse is located on the left side of the feeder elevator.
The undisputed leader on the harvester market with regards to cleanability. One needs to only study this spread to ensure the accuracy of this statement.
Sampo-Rosenlew harvesters have always been easy to clean, due to technical solutions. The grain pan sections can be pulled out, straw walker bottoms can be removed, and so on. Although the same features may be included in other makes, Sampo has implemented them so that you do not have to carry out cleaning in your service area. Instead, you can clean them on the field and save time.
The top axle of the feeder elevator and the threshing concave is easily accessible. By removing the large service doors, you can blow the threshing concave clean, if necessary, and if you have operated in difficult conditions. The rule of thumb is that a clean harvester will produce clean grain.
You can also easily and quickly open the doors using the handles on the left side of the machine. Access to the grain elevator and bottom auger of the returns is behind quick-release doors. The best part is that you do not have to go under the machine; instead, you can perform the tasks from the side of it.
The Comia C10 comes equipped standard with the easiest grain tank to clean on the market. It is also available as an option for the C12. Almost all of the tank augers can be pulled out without using tools. This feature is most appreciated by seed farmers and customers who harvest under difficult conditions.
When harvesting in moist or otherwise difficult conditions, material tends to accumulate under the concave on the front section of the grain pan. In such situations it is important that the grain pan segments can be removed for cleaning. The grain pan sections of the Comia C10 and C12 are made of durable stainless steel. The top and bottom sieves can also be removed for cleaning. The straw walker bottoms can be conveniently pulled out using the back door of the combine. You can do all this in field conditions, using the special tools provided with the machine.
The grain tank becoming full is always a good thing, even if it means that harvesting is interrupted. It means pay day for the farmer.
The Comia C10 and C12 are equipped with large grain tanks. Sizes range from 6,500 litres to 8,100 litres, depending on the grain tank model. The tanks are equipped with two level guards, the position of which can be adjustable when necessary. The tank is also equipped with a light, and the inside of the tank can be monitored from the cab through a large window.
The top of the tank is solid, but it is lifted for harvesting, which allows the full capacity of the tank to be utilised. The top of the tank is lifted by the press of a button from the cabin, which engages two electric motors that lift it up. Harvesting is also possible with the grain tank at transport height.
Two methods of unlaoding
Comia C12 is equipped with a 7,600 litre grain tank, which comes standard with closed unloading. With this emptying method, the unloading speed is 100 l/s. You can also unload with the pipe in any position. The unload height is up to 4.4 m.
The Comia C10 comes standard with the traditional open unloading method known from Sampo models. Its unloading speed is not as fast as with the closed model, but it has proven itself over the years. The secret of this tank type is how easy it is to clean. Cleaning a grain tank in field conditions is not as easy with any other harvester on the market. You can remove all but one auger for cleaning. When the unloading pipe is lifted, the augers form a straight line, which allows grain to pass with ease.
The unlaoding height of the C10 is 4 m and the tank capacity is 6,500 litres. A grain tank for open unloading can also be ordered for the C12. This allows the grain tank size of the C12 to be 8,100 litres.
The emission standards of diesel engines are constantly becoming stricter. The Sampo Comia C10 and C12 fulfil the Tier 4 Final emission requirements of commercial machinery. Using the new SCR diesel technology, you preserve the environment and save 10% in fuel costs, when compared with Common Rail fuel systems. The exhaust gases of the engine are treated with AdBlue. Using the Comvision display in the cab, you can monitor the consumption of the additive.
The engine power specifications are 175kW (238 hp) in the C10 and 221 kW (300 hp) in the C12. The AGCO Power engines with excellent torque rotate at 2,000 rpm.
Driving the Comia C10 and C12 is very easy. Gears are easily shifted as a result of the gear assister in the gearbox. The traction lever is used to determine direction and speed. The wide tyres, which come as standard, ensure good driving properties. If necessary, you can even equip the machine with giant 1050/50R32 tyres. Another practical option is hydraulic four-wheel drive. It also allows the rear wheels to pull. This helps forward progress in difficult conditions and aids in preventing creating tracks in the field.
