EasyMeasure - Impex Dirty Water Detection Sensor
Clean drinking water is essential for optimal hygiene in poultry management. The Impex dirty water detection sensor continually monitors drinking water quality, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This patented light sensor measures the cloudiness of the drinking water as well as sediment in the drinking water line. With continual information on the drinking water quality, the drinking water system is flushed when required for the optimal supply of clean water.

Functioning
The system consists of 2 units: a control unit and a sensor unit. The control unit (Figure 2) has 5 indicator lights and is placed in the service room of the poultry house. The sensor unit is installed in the drinking line (Figure 1). The sensor detects the cloudiness of the water by light measurement. Depending of the degree of cloudiness, the orange or red indicator lights on the control unit will flash (Figure 3). When pollution in the drinking water sinks to the bottom of the drinking line, this is also detected by the light sensor. Both cloudiness as well as sediment increase the risk of bacterial growth. The indicator lights on the control unit show if the drinking line has to be flushed, either manually or automatically. After flushing, the green indicator light on the control unit shows that clean drinking water is again available to the poultry.
