euro-Tiger - Model V8-4 XL - 8- or 9- Row Lifting Unit
ROPA has now developed a euro-Tiger V8-4 with an 8- or 9- row lifting unit. Higher efficiency per unit area at a reduced lifting speed, lower fuel consumption and increased leaf topping are clearly noticeable and significant benefits of this system. For deploying wide PR-XL harvesting units the front axle of the euro-Tiger can be fitted with even wider and super soil protective 900/60R 32 or 1050/50 R32 Terra tyres. Fewer runs and turning manoeuvres will further contribute to soil protection.

Transport System
- For transportation of the lifting unit from the PR-XL series (8- or 9-row with different row distance) ROPA has developed completely new transporting and coupling system.
- The (extremely) wide lifting unit is transported on the public roads in the air-braked trailer with the topper pivoted upright and towed behind the euro-Tiger.
- The driver can couple the trailer using the back view camera and watching the process on the colour monitor. The fast coupling is guaranteed any time without an exterior help.
- Thanks to the euro-Tiger rear axle steering the trailer can easily been towed around tight bends and narrow roads. You can monitor the both front wheels of the trailer and the road via the back run camera.
- In order to suspend the lifting unit, the three-point suspension is lowered, retracted into the trailer nose, and slightly lifted. Then, the lifting unit is hung in the three point suspension of the euro-Tiger, like the header of the combine harvester.
- To drive the lifting unit an 8-fold hydraulic multi-coupler and an electronic multi coupler are inserted on the left side. At last on the right side the four main oil lines should be coupled with the quick-release couplers developed by ROPA. Not a drop of oil leaks during the entire coupling process due to high-quality connections. An air gun on the each side is provided to clean the couplers.
- With a few simple steps and within a few seconds, the three drive lines (2 x 1 1/4 inch and 1x1 inch) and the return line (2 inches) can be coupled.The lifting unit is mounted in the transportation cart in three places. To unmount the lifting unit, at first the topper is lowered hydraulically from the cabin.
- After that the lifting unit is raised about 10 cm and moved backwards from the trailer.
- Significantly higher capacity with reduced speed, reduced fuel consumption and increased scalping quality are major advantages of this system solution. When using the PR-XL lifting units the front axle of the euro-Tiger can be equipped with even broader and extremely gentle 900/60 R32 or 1050/50 R32 Terra tires. Less passes and less maneuvers also contribute to soil protection.
