JAREK - Model 5 - Currant Harvester
JAREK 3 is a deeply modernized version of the AREK harvester. For many years, this machine was developed and produced by the Department of Experimental Mechanization of Horticulture, at the Institute of Pomology and Floriculture in the city of Skierniewice. The improved in twenty years technology used during the production of hundreds of combine harvesters let us be sure that the machines manufactured by our company are effective and reliable. Solutions used in the construction of these harvesters were emulated by other manufacturers.
Combine JAREK 3 during one pass harvests fruit from one side in a row. It should be driven by an agricultural tractor with min. power of 20 kW (approximately 30HP) and the possible low-speed of work. The recommended speed is about 0,6-1,5 km/h and depends mainly on the yields size. Harvest efficiency is about 0,1-0,2 ha/h and it highly depends on the way that fruits are being unloaded.
We've managed to keep all of advantages of previous versions of the harvester JAREK at designing newest version - JAREK 3. Also its functionality and reliability has increased. The most important thing for us was to improve the quality of the set gooseberry and new varieties of low fruitful currants. We also have consider the remarks of similar machines users. We do our best to make our harvesters be high quality, simple in use and easy to service. So, almost all parts and construction elements of JAREK 3 can be easily replaced with construction elements of earlier versions of harvesters produced in Skierniewice: AREK and KPS3. That makes harvester's servicing much easier.
The drive of JAREK 3 is fully hydraulic. The construction of the harvester permits installation of one or two strewers and the client decides how many strewers is installed. It is important that the majority of our customers chooses the version with two strewers. It is possible to use one strewer's version to collect many varietes of blackcurrants. But, it is much better to use two strewer's version to collect red currants, gooseberries. In that case, fruits are collected more exactly and the bushes are damaged less.
The precision of the harvest depends on the size of the bushes and way of the cultivated area. In good conditions the precision is almost 99% and there is no more than 1% damaged fruits there.
The frequency of strewers’ vibrations, the speed of conveyors and the efficiency of a cleaning fan are regulated fluently by hydraulic valves. To provide a fluent harvest from heavily fruiting plantations the linear speed of conveyors and the capacity of containers on the conveyor’s belt were increased.
Basic version of JAREK 3 harvested is equipped in tri-gradual gap regulation. Combined with a large variety of distributor‘s elements regulation and the ability to lower heavily the strewer elements it allows harvesting from both low and high bushes. No additional elements are necessary to achieve that.
Relatively high location of conveyor’s container facilitates the collection of fruit cases and allows adjusting the machine to harvest into box pallets (bulk boxes). Additional information about bulk box harvesting can be found in the additional accessories section.
A plantation should be flat and even (max. slope 5%), cleared from stones, with no furrows and hollows. A space of minimum 8 meters to turn round the harvester should be provided on both sides. When using harvesters with moving wheels the space can be reduced to 4-8 meters. The span of the rows should be minimum 4 meters and the span of the bushes in a row maximum 0,5 meters. The bushes should be formed into a letter V, without crossing shoots.
