AquaOptima has developed industrial products and its own system for intensive fish farming in tanks and recirculation of water - RAS. The system is based on patented products and removal of solids directly from fish tanks that ensures better water quality inside tank and better suitability for treatment of water in prior to recirculation.
Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) operate by filtering water from the fish (or shellfish) tanks so it can be reused within the tank. This dramatically reduces the amount of water and space required to intensively produce seafood products. The steps in RAS include solids removal, ammonia removal, Co2 removal and oxygenation.
In Italy, like in many other countries, the current development of marine fish farming is linked to the possibility to dislocate the farming activities from sheltered sea areas to more unsheltered ones and even off shore. This is due to:
For land-based fish farms, Recirculation Aquaculture Systems (RAS) provide significant advantages towards flow through systems. Excellent water quality, rich water quantities and preservation of temperature are all key factors to provide good health and optimal growth conditions for fi sh. Kaldnes RAS plants are tailored for optimum conditions ...
The patented FishPac live air transport system was created as an alternative to outdated water filled plastic bags packed in Styrofoam boxes and air pump systems. These traditional method of aquatic transport is labour intensive, environmentally toxic and yields high mortality rates amongst the aquatic cargo.
