Contaminated raw materials often accumulate in the processing of building materials. To clean material effectively for further classification, Binder+Co manufactures log washers to break down friable agglomerates and loamy lumps.
The contaminated material is brought into the log washer at the lower end of the tub and transported to the upper end of the tub run-out by paddled shafts (“logs”) rotating in opposite directions. The stress and friction of the scrubbing action breaks down loamy and clay-containing constituents and distributes them finely in the water. The cleaned material is discharged at the upper end of the tub, and foreign particles and light materials are separated in the water at the lower end of the tub.
