Massey Ferguson - Model 300 Series - Tractors
The highly popular MF300 series was built from 1987 to 1997. The series numbering can look complicated as several modifications were made during this period and a number of the models that were originally designated as ending in ‘0’ acquired a ‘2’. The MF 300 offered operational simplicity with the standard fit being the mechanically-controlled Ferguson-System hydraulics. Their MF300 was an ideal tractor for specialist livestock farms, mixed farms and smaller arable farms. The smaller models are also suited to horticultural, amenity and equine use.
The three-cylinder models weigh below 3000kg, the four-cylinder models typically between 3400 and 3900 kg and the six-cylinder 399 about 4000 kg. Common to MF300 range tractors was the Perkins 127mm long-stroke engines. The three-cylinder (342 to 360) models had 47 to 58hp. The four-cylinder (362 to 398) tractors 62 to 93hp. The one six-cylinder model was the 399 with about 100hp.
