Horizontal Manure Augers convey sand-laden manure into reception tanks or storage unit without turning the manure. Producers choosing not to use a high dilution, or flush system, to convey manure are also candidates for a Horizontal Manure Auger. Typically, Horizontal Manure Augers are installed at the cross alley (center) or end of the barn. Because augers are typically installed just below floor level, they don't require operators to go into confined spaces to repair broken equipment. Horizontal Manure Augers are covered and guarded with grating and plating.
Systems are capable of receiving manure easily from a skid steer or alley scraper. Manure is then conveyed quickly and quietly across a freestall barn or breezeway to a reception tank or storage unit.
