Application conditions
nema-green may be used from end of July to the end of September. The nematodes are most infective at soil temperatures from 12 to 30°. They are very susceptible to UV-light and to desiccation and should therefore be applied in the evening or in dull weather.
Application directions and rates
nema-green can be easily applied with typical spray equipment like a conventional boom-sprayer at a dosage of 0.5 million nematodes / m2.
Use nozzles with at least 0.8 mm diameter. Pressure should not exceed 5 bar. Nematodes should be applied with at least 1,200 l water per ha. Addition of wetting agent will be favourable on thatch.
- Thoroughly clean sprayer esp. after insecticide use
- Remove all sieves and filters inside the tank and before the nozzles
- Add ¾ of the required amount of water to the tank
- Dilute packs in a bucket with 5 litres of water
- With the agitator running add content of bucket to the tank
- Add a wetting agent
- Add the remainder of water and begin application
Take care, that the solution will be agitated during filling process and spraying until the tank is empty. Irrigate with 1-2 litres of water/m2 after application to wash the nematodes off the leaves and into the soil.
Compatibility
nema-green is compatible with most chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Only a few insecticides have a negative impact on nema-green. In these cases apply nema-green 3 days earlier or 2 weeks later. A compatibility list can be downloaded at http://www.e-nema.de/service-en/compatibility-of-pesticides/.
Storage and handling
nema-green should be used as soon as possible upon delivery. Store at 4 to 10 °C (see expiry date on package). It should never be frozen or exposed to more than 30°C. Remove all sieves in the tubing and at the nozzles. Use nozzles with at least 0.8 mm diameter. Do not exceed pump pressure of 5 bar. Mix the solution thoroughly and maintain agitation during spraying to avoid sedimentation of the nematodes!
