Application conditions
For optimum results treat plants as soon as they are placed in the greenhouse. nemaflor does not control immigrant thrips. Most of these do not harm the crop. Air temperature should be 10 to 28°C. At higher temperatures, nematode efficacy decreases. Nematodes are very sensible to sunlight and desiccation and should only be applied in the early morning or evening.
Application directions and rates
nemaflor should be applied weekly as a routine application, since nematodes attack only the stages present at the time of application. The recommended application rate is 125.000 nematodes per m2 per week or one pack of 50 million on 400 m2 soil surface. Thrips numbers should be monitored weekly with blue sticky traps!
Foliar Application
Method recommended e.g. for Chrysanthemums. Apply 10 litres of water per 100 m2. Avoid run off. Apply in the evening to make use of the higher humidity. Growing points of plants should stay moist for at least 3 hours after application, to enable the nematodes to find their hosts. Don’t apply with a wetting agent. nemaflor G should be used if spraying residues on fruits and flowers have to be avoided.
Application via drip irrigation or Dosatron
Method recommended for strawberries. Agitate suspension in the feeding tank continuously during injection to prevent nematodes from settling. Alternatively add thickener such as carboxy methyl cellulose at 0.3 %. At low infestation apply every two weeks with 250.000
nematodes per m².
Storage and handling
nemaflor should be used as soon as possible upon delivery. Store at 4 to 10°C (see expiry date on package). It should never be frozen or exposed to more than 30°C. Remove all sieves in the tubing and at the nozzles. Use nozzles with at least 0.5 mm diameter. Do not exceed pump pressure of 5 bar. Mix the solution thoroughly and maintain agitation during spraying to avoid sedimentation of the nematodes!
Safety
The active ingredient and the formulation of nemaflor are safe to users, consumers and the environment. There are no restrictions or safety instructions for the usage of nemaflor.
