KSK - Model P01 - Pedestrian Touch Button
Modern shape of the enclosure is designed to increase the resiliance against damage, ie, changing the resultant vector of impact on the pillar on which the button is mounted via the ribbed molding directly transfers the force of the impact.
Product Details
The button is equipped with LED confirmation and audible pedestrian guidance and confirmation of acceptance of different frequencies. The use of LEDs as opposed to incandescent systems for low power consumption and long life.
Pedestrian button is designed with care for people with disabilities, equipped with vibration pad and additional request signal allowing for a longer time of green signal for safe street crossing.
- Rugged design prevents the devastation and destruction of a button
- Designed to work with any standard power source
- Wired and wireless data transfer
- Disabled people friendly device
- configuration with infrared port
Pedestrian touch button is adapted to work with any standard power source. In addition, all behavioral parameters can be modified on site by a service configuration infrared port.
The pedestrian request is based on a capacitive sensor technology, enabling removal of all the mechanical components what by far extends the life of the device.
The button is available in wired and wireless which makes its installation and replacement more versatile than any other button.
We also offer contactless functionality. Now there is no need to press the button to turn on the green light, just raise your hand.
The device contains an infrared sensor, which activates the red light – the same if you were to push the button.
Capacitive sensor
Find out how the push button that does not need to be pushed works
Capacitive sensors are areas on a PCB that have been filled with copper and then connected back to a device using a trace. The device will then measure the sensor in some manner that allows it to notice small shifts in capacitance typically caused by a user’s finger approaching the sensor. The capacitance is continuously read in software and when a change occurs, the system will register a press on that sensor.
There are three coupling paths that are affected when a user approaches a capacitive sensor. There is a change in coupling between the capacitive sensor and the board’s ground due to the close proximity of the finger. This is a localized effect and will not be affected too greatly by the power supply or board layout. The second coupling path connects the sensor and earth ground through the user’s body. It adds capacitance to the sensor and is one of the primary paths for conducted noise injection. If this is an open circuit because the user is not sharing a ground with the board, the capacitance added by this path is negligible. Finally, the third coupling path is the amount of additional capacitance to earth ground that is added to the board’s ground due to the user’s body. If the board-to-earth capacitance increases, the effect of the sensor-to-earth coupling will be seen more strongly on the sensor.
Device Configurations
- KSK-P01a - button in wired version, directly connected to the traffic lights' controller. The button is configured using the IRDA port (to determine the level of sensitivity of the sensor, set the level of status signals)
- KSK-P01b - button in wired version, connected to CPU card. The button transfers data via CAN interface
- KSK-P01c - the wireless version, connected to CPU card. All buttons can be configured remotely from the controller's cabinet .
- Each of these configurations can be equipped with a speaker and confirmation vibrating pad with text in braille code.
