Lyndon Fish Hatcheries Inc.

Off-Season Summer Eggs

Due to the natural spawning cycle of rainbow trout, which does not fall in the summer months, egg supply is very low for this time of year. Most producers use photo, thermal, or chemical manipulation in order to have their fish spawn during the off-season months.

Lyndon has worked closely with various researchers at the University of Guelph to extend the spawning cycle of the Lyndon strain to enable production to occur within these desirable summer months. This achievement has enabled Lyndon to offer eggs every month of the year without applying any unnatural manipulation, Based on preliminary research results, the growth rates for these eggs are the strongest that the Lyndon strain has to offer.

All eggs produced from April 15-August 31 will be sold as off-season summer eggs.
