D T Fiberglass - Aquaculture Radial Flow Settler
From Agricultural Tanks
Because aquaculture solids typically have a low specific gravity, radial flow settlers are the preferred settling devices in most aquaculture applications. DT’s highly efficient filters remove heavy suspended solids that occur in a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). Fish effluent enters the center of the filter and flows down causing high-density solids to be easily settled out of the water column as they gather at the bottom of the settler. Filtered water overflows a weir at the top of the radial flow settler and is pumped to the next phase of system (directly to grow beds or drum filter).
Aquatic Gravity Thickening Settler
DT’s Gravity Thickening Settler is a large-scale variation of the Radial Flow Settler that uses the natural tendency of dense biosolids to settle out of liquid to concentrate thickened solids at the bottom of the tank by gravity. A V-notch weir located at the top of the settler allows the filtered water to return to the clarifier while thickened waste water is funneled through a discharge pipe at the bottom of the unit.
