Thermocal Neutralizer - Soft, White Calcium
From Calf Products
Thermocal Neutralizer is a soft, white calcium. When applied, it creates conditions favorable to workers and livestock. Unlike limestone barnlime, Thermocal Neutralizer is not irritating or harmful to people or livestock. Thermocal Neutralizer reduces odor, absorbs moisture, and enriches manure. It is recommended for barns, feedlots, and poultry and farrowing houses.
Aids in odor reduction, creating more favorable working conditions for producers and their animals.
Absorbs moisture in the soil. This absorption dries up and neutralizes acids. It is effective in barns, feedlots, and poultry and farrowing houses.
The high calcium content enriches the value of livestock manure. When this enriched manure is applied to crop fields, it helps to reduce soil acidity.
Neither workers nor livestock will be irritated or harmed by Thermocal Neutralizer.
All-natural and OMRI listed
Thermocal Neutralizer is a naturally reprecipitated product derived from hot water springs which reach temperatures of 138 degrees. The hot water springs give unique characteristics such as which color, soft composition, and a fast reaction time.
For use in stalls or hutches designated for cattle and calves. For best results, clean area and apply Thermocal Neutralizer to the ground before adding new bedding. May also be applied to existing bedding. Apply 1 lb per 9 square feet. Use heavier on wet or urinated areas.
Wet Mixing Rate and Application:
Mix 50 lbs of Thermocal Neutralizer in 5-7 gallons of water. The mixture should have a paint-like consistency. The mixing rate may change slightly depending on the type of applicator used. For example, when using a backpack sprayer, the mixing rate should be 50 lbs of Stall Sorb to 10 gallons of water. The thicker the mixture is, the better the coverage will be. If the coverage is too thin, another coat may been need to be applied.
When applying Thermocal Neutralizer to plastic, good coverage is necessary, but a very thick coat may cause the product to flake off. When applying to wood or cement, it is okay to apply a thick, heavy coat. The coating will extend the life of the wooden hutch. A wooden calf pen with the following dimensions, 2.5 ft wide x 3 ft high x 8 ft long, will require approximately 5-7 lbs of Thermocal Neutralizer. A residue of Thermocal Neutralizer will remain from a previous application so there is no need to power wash the stall before a second application. Therefore the Thermocal Neutralizer usage will drop to 3-4 lbs for the second application.
