TOMRA - Model FPS - Field Potato Sorting Machine
The Field Potato Sorter, FPS, is a sensor based food sorting machine for unwashed potatoes, removing soil clods, stones and foreign material.
TOMRA's FPS is a robust, high capacity potato sorter for use in the separation of most foreign material from unwashed potatoes and other root crops.
FPS has proven itself invaluable in heavy ground conditions where its unique vision system accurately separates dirt clods, rocks, wood, bone, plastic, glass, metal, rubber and more.
With labor hard to find, typical labor savings using FPS can be in the area of 80 percent with satisfied customers reporting high unloading speeds even in the most challenging conditions.
- High capacity and low maintenance sorting machine
- Flexible food sorting machine with gentle handling assured
- Simple controls and feedback
- Consistent long life accuracy
Fresh pack applications
Unwashed potatoes: works with white, brown, yellow, red and purple varieties, as well as seed, processing and specialty potatoes.
The FPS uses unique multi-spectral NIR (Near Infra-Red) sensors to scan each individual item ‘in flight’. This allows for an unobstructed view of the product with a high capacity sort. The sensors analyse for soil clods, stones and foreign material. Gentle product handling is assured by design; the first accepted grade gently passes through the sorting machine while the second grade with soil clods, stones, and foreign materials are sorted out by intelligent finger ejectors with precision and accuracy.
