The application of mathematical models is part of ACE’s toolbox. We provide models to simulate the behaviour of waves and currents, and to demonstrate how nets, cage facilities and the fish themselves move under a variety of different conditions. Such models enable us to see the results, and the effective application of models and visualisation together promote a better understanding of the processes going on beneath the water surface.
Research and development activities and industrial scale testing within the aquaculture industry are currently relatively underdeveloped. For this reason, ACE both initiates and takes an active part in many projects focusing on new or improved methods for the documentation and analysis of technological solutions. The BILAT Escape and TeleFish projects are good examples.
There is a growing demand within the industry for increased automation and new localities. To meet these demands, ACE provides the development and documentation of new technological systems.
