Flower bulbs are rinsed after harvesting to soak off soils residues. Subsequently, the bulbs need to be dried fast to resist decay and growth of fungus (e.g. fusarium). Existing types of drying installations result in quite long drying times and are labour and energy intensive. The tunnel dryer is a new alternative: it dries tulip bulb in standard 1 m3-boxes in 2 hours, it works fully automatic and it saves energy.
