Wall-Reform II Insulation Board & Render System
- Remove all extraneous and loose fittings and leave temporarily supported but brought away from wall surface to enable insulation and render works to proceed. (site protection) Boards
- Extend any existing service and waste pipework.
- Extend any existing balanced flues and air grates and provide temporary protection.
- Hammer test and hack off any loose or defective render and remove from site.
- Remove any adjacent growth or cut back to suit, away from the new working area.
- Dub out any bare areas or low spots where applicable
- Brushdown loose particles and apply stabilising solution to existing sub-strate
- Apply tinted fungicidal wash to existing substrate where necessary
- Install bellcast bead/starter track and all ancillary full depth beads where required, including movement joint stop beads, and capping beads. Shim out to true line and level where necessary.
- Install undercill sections where applicable.
- Install where applicable purpose made, powder coated aluminium ductwork sections for major service pipework. E.g external gas, oil or LPGservice
- Starting at bellcast bead level. offer 1200x 600 selected insulation boards to wall surface and drill and fix central insulation anchor through board centre to locate in position. Minimal nominal embedment depth - 50mm.
- Complete each elevation, working up to eaves level and block bonding each alternative course of boards at external and internal angles. Install central locating anchor to each board and cut board as work progresses.
- Build in to system as work progresses, tanalised timber pattresses/grounds for positive fixing of surface fittings. Nominal size 150mm x 225mm x thickness of board system. Note position of each patteress with a prominent, temporary central fixing proud of subsequent render coats. Highlight with dome headed stainless steel screw.
- Ensure that insulation boards are close butt jointed to avoid air/heat leakage. Any gaps forming larger than 5mm should be filled with expanding foam or wall reform basecoat. Five fixing anchors per board in a symmetrical pattern. Nominally8-1 0 fixings per m2
- Install overcills where applicable.
- Install reveal insulation sections: minimum 20mm thick where applicable or dub out using wall reform base coat where reveal is too restricted.
- Install surface beads - corner beads/movement joint bead/stop bead and temporarily fix to insulation boards with bead retainer clip/trim fixings.
- Fixover timber pattresses, reinforcing mesh scrim for continuity of render finish
- Apply reinforcing jointing scrim to all joints of insulation boards.
- Apply bonding aid EVA
- Apply first pass pricking up coat of wall reform basecoat in a nominal Thickness of 5mm to all areas working down from eaves level .Apply by Stainless steel trowel and float .Pressinto board face for good adhesion Using upward strokes only -Apply second and final pass of base coat 'wet on wet' to complete base coat thickness of 15mm.
- Whilst second base coat pass iswet apply 300 x 225mm rectangular stresss relief re-inforcement scrim patches to reveal corners and press into wet render at an angle of 45 degrees to each corner 75mm from the reveal corner. Float over patches with stainless steel float. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Rasp down surface of Wall-Reform base coat in preparation for render finishes. Brushdown on completion.
- Apply selected finish colour co-ordinating acrylic or silicone primer to all areas. Ensure obliteration of grey base coat. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Apply selected finish acrylic high performance decorative coating 1.5mm - 5mm guartz grain size, by stainless steel float, worked in random pattern. Finish with plastic float to achieve final texture. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Apply silicone mastic sealant at all junctions and to new overcill and undercill positions.
- Refix all extraneous fitting and secure to pattresses using stainless steel or coated screws and neoprene washers. Plate over ductwork sections where applicable and secure covers with stainless steel self tapping fixings at 450 centres.
- Alternative fixing methods for heavy extraneous items e.g. satellite dishes. Resin anchor bolt fixing or captive expanding anchor bolt with tube spacers and neoprene/stainless steel washers.
- Clean up all site.
