All of our glasshouse structures offer the latest storm protection and are designed, manufactured and built in accordance with the latest British standards, taking into account local climatic conditions. All structural steel work is manufactured and constructed to BS EN 1090 and is CE marked accordingly.

With a range of cladding materials available the structures have many uses including- retail areas, stores, boiler houses, offices, classrooms, etc. CambridgeHOK’s team of Technical Advisers is vastly experienced and able to offer a complete design and build service. Venlo Glasshouse Structures

With bay widths of 3.2m, 4.0m and 4.8m using two, three and four bay spans and 4.0m, 4.5m and 5.0m sections lengths the Venlo glasshouse is designed to meet the most exacting requirements of the modern grower. It is a very versatile structure that is as suitable for large scale commercial growing as it is for the small market garden. Its modular construction means that future modifications and extensions can easily be made. Using the latest developments in glass and glazing system technology the Venlo glasshouse is known for its high light penetration resulting in high crop yields. Additional services such as thermal and shade screens, benching and internal transport systems, heating and irrigation systems are integrated into this type of structure with ease. The flexibility in post height and roof and section sizes and the wide range of available glazing and cladding options allows the Venlo glasshouse to be adapted to suit individual requirements.

Venlo Technical Specifications

Bay widths: 3.2m bays (6.4m, 9.6m & 12.8m spans) 4.0m bays (8.0m, 12.0m & 16.0m spans)
Section lengths: 4.0m, 4.5m & 5.0m
Post heights: From 3.0m and upwards to suit crop requirements
Foundations: Pre-cast concrete wall panels (insulated or un-insulated), concrete block walls or cast on site concrete walls with posts bolted on to concrete foundation posts set in concrete.
Structure: Steel structure, hot dipped galvanised after manufacture, painted or powder coated if required.
Gutters: Galvanised steel open gutters or more commonly narrow aluminium box profile gutters with integral condensation channel for increased light transmission and low maintenance.
Cladding systems: A wide range of cladding systems including 4mm horticultural glass, toughened glass, diffused glass, 16mm multi-wall polycarbonate, single skin or insulated cladding panels.
Ventilation: 2 or 3 pane ventilators fitted on one or both sides of the ridge operated by motors and rack & pinions. Many control options are available from simple temperature and time control to the latest environmental computers integrating all aspects of the systems within the glasshouse.
Doors: Aluminium doors, sliding or swing, half glazed with clear Plexiglas for lightness & safety.

CambridgeHOK’s XK Range of glasshouse structures is an ideal choice for growing businesses as it is incredibly versatile. Not only does it allow you to create the perfect growing environment, but its modular construction allows it to expand along with the needs of your business.With a wide range of cladding options including glass, composite cladding, polycarbonate sheeting and impact resistant PVC, the XK range can meet your changing needs.Manufactured to stringent regulations for wind and snow loading, the XK Range’s design maximises strength, minimises light loss and allows screens to be easily fitted. Since 610mm width glass is used throughout, it can be easily maintained.

Section length: 4.98m as standard (non-standards are available)
Gutter height: From 2.44m
Foundations: Conventional glasshouse practice with cast concrete bases and concrete block walls.
Structure: Steel structure, hot dipped galvanised after manufacture, painted or powder coated if required.
Gutters: Narrow open aluminium gutter for low maintenance and strength.
Cladding systems: A wide range of cladding systems including 3 & 4mm horticultural glass, toughened glass, 10mm multi-wall polycarbonate, single skin or insulated cladding panels.
Ventilation: 1.22m deep continuous ventilators fitted on one or both sides of the ridge with motors and aluminium rack & pinions. Many control options available from simple temperature and time control to the latest environmental computers integrating all aspects of the systems within the glasshouse.
