Many golf courses have pristine fairways along with beautiful water features and ponds. Unfortunately Golf Coarse Greens Keepers have to struggle to keep their water ways clear and smelling good. Riverdale Water Management can help. Our aeration systems combined with pond dye and beneficial bacteria can reduce the work load in caring for these ponds and the results are tremendous!
Our black pond dye is the same dye that is used in the waterways at the Masters. Pond Dye works to shade the water from UV thus lessening the algae and weed growth. Combined with Beneficial Bacteria and Aeration nutrient levels can significantly be dropped resulting in the starvation of the algae. Our dye comes in liquid form or Wettable Soluble Packets for easy no mess application. Black is the most popular colour due to its natural appearance but we also carry blue.
Beneficial Bacteria works to consume excessive nutrients in the water. Nutrients are what Algae needs to thrive and through the reduction of nutrients the Algae to reduces resulting in clean clear water. Continual addition of bacteria is required as their levels drop when the nutrient levels drop too. As nutrient levels begin to increase again beneficial bacteria needs to be reintroduced again.
Aeration is like providing “Red Bull” to the beneficial bacteria in the water column. Dissolved Oxygen is an important component in creating healthy clear water. It helps the bacteria and living creatures in the water. Aeration also works to release the gases such as Hydrogen Sulfide and C02 from the ponds bottom by bringing dissolved oxygen to the bottom of the pond. This dissolved oxygen works to activate the aerobic bacteria at the bottom which will work quickly to consume the muck layer.
