PiriReis is a landuse map of the Netherlands made every year based on a combination of satellite imagery and vector data. PiriReis focusses on the seasonal changing agricultural use of the land due to crop rotation. Amongst our clients are various waterboards in the Netherlands. They use the data amongst others to enforce local regulations and as input in model calculations. There is a standard set of classes (see legend below) that can be aggregated or extended by clients to suit specific wishes. PiriReis is supported by large-scale fieldwork campaigns for calibration and validation purposes. This ensures a high accuracy for both thematic (classes) and geometric (field boundaries) aspects.
