Plant Protection Services
Since the introduction of EU Directive 91/414/EEC in July 1993, setting out the registration requirements for all new active substances and products entering the European market, as well as the registration procedures and review programme for existing products, further regulations governing plant protection products have been published. The most important of these is Regulation 1107/2009, which repeals Directive 91/414/EEC and came into force on 14 June 2011.
An important aspect of this Regulation covers the renewal of active substance approvals – AIR 3 programme – and is outlined in Commission Implementing Regulation No.844/2012. This new regulation imposes much stricter timescales for submission and evaluation of applications and supplementary dossiers.
