Overview
The 'nearest base' option of the Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) will automatically select the nearest healthy reference station to the user. This functionality greatly improves the reliability of a correction service and is especially useful for kinematic applications, such as agricultural machine auto-steering.
With the help of the 'subadmin' feature it is possible to set up multiple services using only a single software instance. The Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) supports multiple domain names, ports and sourcetables.
We offer two licensing options. The Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) can be purchased as a permanent Linux software licence. Alternatively, we can also provide the software as a service. Alberding GmbH operates high-quality dedicated servers in a secure server farm in Germany and can quickly set up an Ntrip caster service for you. If you are not familiar with Linux servers or do not want to worry about server operation and maintenance, the GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) service may be the right choice for you.
The GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) plays an important role in real-time GNSS correction services. Monitoring the availability of the caster server and each individual Ntrip mountpoint is therefore a basic task for service providers. Alberding GmbH offers professional solutions for Ntrip monitoring.
Alberding GmbH is a brand neutral company, we provide GNSS hardware manufacturer independent solutions. Our Alberding DataConv software can convert real-time GNSS data streams from one format to another. With our help you will be able to support all your customers, no matter what colour their receiver is.

Tracking / Documentation
The GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) provides advanced user tracking and fleet management functionalities. While receiving RTK corrections from the Ntrip caster, user receivers send their precise position (along with other useful information) back to the server at regular intervals. This input data is used to monitor the position and RTK fixing status of the connected clients. A real-time status table shows all connected users with their current position quality, number of tracked satellites, correction data age, IP address, Internet service provider, etc. information. The Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) map display shows user positions in real time with colour coded icons indicating position quality. Historic user positions and performance data can be analysed on KML tracks and time series graphs, which can be archived for reporting.
All these details can be used very effectively when troubleshooting potential user-side problems (for example mobile Internet connectivity issues or satellite tracking problems).
On the map display, GNSS Data Management (Ntrip) operators can choose from several base layers and overlays. As an optional feature, custom-specific map layers can be displayed from WMS/TMS/WMTS map services. It is even possible to display various Sentinel satellite imageries as background layers (e.g. vegetation index, moisture index, infrared vegetation, etc.).
Field boundaries can be uploaded to the Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) web interface in KML, XML or Shapefile formats, which then can be displayed on the map as overlays together with attribute information such as crop type or land parcel area.
User-specific connection information is summarised in a tabular form that can be used for reporting and billing purposes.
Ntrip Monitoring
Ntrip is the primary international standard for GNSS data collection and correction dissemination over the Internet. Ntrip casters play a critical role in modern GNSS infrastructures and real-time correction services. It is therefore important that the accessibility of the caster server and the availability and consistency of the Ntrip data streams are continuously monitored. Alberding GmbH developed various tools for Ntrip monitoring.
Alberding-QC Checkstream is a dedicated Ntrip monitoring software module that runs independent from the Ntrip caster itself. This professional web-based application was designed to monitor the availability of Ntrip mountpoints on one or more Ntrip casters. The software can automatically send email/SMS alerts to warn service operators of a system malfunction. Checkstream is an Ntrip caster manufacturer independent solution, it can be used to monitor any kind of caster application on the market. Alberding-QC Checkstream can be purchased as a permanent Linux software licence. Alternatively, Alberding GmbH offers Checkstream as a service.
For those, operating an Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip), we also provide a data stream monitoring option integrated into the caster web interface itself. This basic availability check function gives the most important information on the real-time and historic availability status of the Ntrip mountpoints. It is based on the internal information stored by the Alberding GNSS Data Management Software (Ntrip) and provides outage details and statistics for each individual data stream.
Some selected features:
- Professional Ntrip caster monitoring solution.
- Graphical and textual representation of Ntrip mountpoint availability.
- Data format consistency and data content analysis.
- Generation of availability statistics.
- Export of availability reports in PDF format.
- Automatic email/SMS alerts to operators.
- NABU (Notice Advisory to Broadcaster Users) messages.
Applications
- Real-time data collection from GNSS reference stations and other sensors.
- Real-time correction service provision (e.g. DGNSS, RTK, PPP).
- User tracking and performance monitoring.
- Data sharing with neighbouring GNSS networks.
- Data forwarding to external processing applications.
- Rebroadcasting of 3rd party GNSS data streams.
