Wilma - AI Advice Engine
Wilma is a distributed operating system that uses AI and data analytics to deliver per plant intelligence to the whole farm. Wilma absorbs billions of data points from Tom and converts that to Per Plant Intelligence. This data is used to make decisions and if required, deploy robots for Per Plant Action.
Digitise the farm
Digitise the farm
Wilma allows farmers to pull together and aggregate multiple layers of farm data and farm management information.
Per plant crop and weed count
Farmers can see exactly how many crop plants and weeds they have in their fields. Predict yields from emergence data, survival rates and tiller counts.
Weed treatment threshold
Distinguish between weeds with biodiverse properties and those that threaten yield. Wilma models conservative, recommended and aggressive action.
Billions of data points
Wilma is a custom built, production ready software platform. We are now working with farmers and corporations to action the insights that we have been able to produce. This will reduce herbicide usage on farms and to to improve the timing of fertiliser applications and to spray or no spray decisions.
Blackgrass Detection
Blackgrass Detection
Through a project with Rothamsted Research, CHAP and Fotenix, We have identified a method of detecting blackgrass at an early stage of growth. Before it is competitive with the crop. Our Tom robot is able to detect emergent blackgrass using multi-spectrum imagery.
Blackgrass is one of the most economically significant weeds for cereal crops in Western Europe. In the UK, this herbicide resistant weed costs £400m annually + 800,000t lost yield.
Soil Sampling
Soil Sampling
We have successfully achieved a proof-of-concept milestone for developing robotic soil health intelligence. Our Tom robot takes soil samples with PES Technologies’ soil health sensor mounted on the robot. The sensor detects Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) released from soil.
This could provide farmers with accurate, repeatable soil health monitoring at farm scale. Agronomists and farmers could use this information to guide precision improvements to soil health, maximising yield and increasing revenue with minimum chemical input.
