Ceramic membrane solutions for treatment of fish stick water industry - Agriculture - Aquaculture
Treatment of fish stick water with ceramic membranes. Production of high quality fish meal, saving energy and increasing production in fish processing and fish oil production pose new challenges for producers.
The fish processing industry can benefit using ceramic membrane filtration to address many challenges to increase profitability. Today the fish processing industry faces many challenges. The challenges vary depending on site location.

Ceramic membrane filtration resulted in 100% of the fishmeal being processed to be Grade A Meal. Previously, up to 30% of the production could not be sold because the corresponding specifications were not met. Energy savings up to 54% could be achieved by eliminating the use of evaporators. Up to 65% reduction of TMA chemical (Trimethylamine)
- The ceramic membranes are capable of treating fish stick water in a stable long-term operation and the membranes were successfully regenerated.
