Natural charcoal products have proven to be particularly beneficial because of their multiple applications, such as the use charcoal feed. As a feed additive, this improves animal health in a gentle and effective way and reduces the excretion of odours and ammonia in the barn. Carbonisation – the conversion of natural material to carbon feed – requires special care in the manufacturing process. CERTIFIED QUALITY

The number of charcoal feed producers and substrates has increased considerably in recent years. The offer is large, and so are the differences in quality. It goes without saying that charcoal feed produced using the PYREG process can be certified according to GMP+. The European Biochar Certificate (EBC) also offers a reliable and recognised quality standard. As a voluntary Europe-wide industry standard, the certificate guarantees an environmentally friendly manufacturing process and pollutant-free premium product quality. Since 2012, charcoal feed producers have been able to have their products certified by this independent inspection body and are monitored regularly. A large number of our customers and users of PYREG technology are EBC-certified, and only flawless charcoal feed is in demand on the market at profitable prices. MULTIPLE BENEFITS IN THE STABLE
Premium coal such as charcoal feed does not only have a positive effect on animal welfare in stables. When excreted, it also reduces the pungent odour of liquid manure. If it is then applied to the field as a fertilizer additive, it also improves soil quality, prevents nutrient leaching and protects the climate.

  • Biochar as a silage additive prevents mould and fungal growth. Toxins are adsorbed, lactic acid bacteria work more effectively. Stable hygiene is improved.
  • Biochar reduces litter moisture, binds ammonium and other toxins and improves the health of footpads. The bedding remains scrapable for longer.
  • Biochar as a feed additive (coal feed) regulates the nutrient balance in the intestinal tract. Bacterial colonisation is encouraged, feed efficiency and slaughter weights increase.
