Effective Cleaning of Plumbing & Disinfection of Water for Mini Vegetables - Agriculture - Crop Cultivation

There is a rich abundance of mini-vegetable plantations throughout the Plateau of Guatemala (mostly harvested for export). The following varieties are quite common: Peas, Sweet Peas, Green Beans, and Zucchinis, among others. The biggest challenges to the operators are the speed and incidence of deterioration and decay, due to bacteria and fungi infestaton, before final arrival at the destination, in this case, the U.S.A. This severely limits the "shelf-life", the maximum time for which fresh produce can be stored to offer acceptable quality.
The problem begins in the field when the crop is sown, and continues throughout maturation, harvesting, and processing. In each phase, the level of cleanliness and disinfection during handling directly impact the shelf life of fresh produce. The increased incidence of deterioration caused by these illnesses represents enormous losses to the industry of up to 40 % of the total products shipped.
The operator agreed to use Puroxi OB (OB) in a field trial to see if objectives could be met. The number one priority of this evaluation was to minimize or to entirely eliminate the bacteria or fungi that cause the deterioration and decay of the vegetables. The primary goal is to effectively prolong the shelf life for more than 15 days, which is the current industry standard.
The client agreed to eliminate the use of any other products for disinfection and treatment of water for this trial. After an expert analysis of a water report, a customized mixture was formulated. The ideal pH factor to treat the water, in conjunction Puroxi (OB) products during this trial, was also determined and modified. The dosers currently used by the client were used to pour the solution into a special 1500 litre stainless steel tank, for use in the disinfection process. Additionally, custom formulas of Puroxi OB products were used in the field, specifically in the irrigation channel and foliar spray, to further treat the plants and enhance the integral health of the overall plant: roots, stems, and leaves.
Within 3 weeks after the Puroxi (OB) formula was applied to the crops, ALL types of bacteria and virus were completely eliminated, which resulted in better quality vegetables arriving at the final destination. Additional benefit was that the vegetables gained more than 19 days of shelf life – 4 more than normal!
The results in the field area are: larger root area, thicker stems, healthier & better developed leaves, greater integral health and better germination. Additional recommendations were also made to the operator, with specific uses of Puroxi (OB) products and protocols, to improve the sanitation and disinfection of the processing plant, including their use in foot-baths, hand sanitation, tools, furniture, work crews, etc. Puroxi (OB) can also be used in First Aid treatment as well as for preventative medicine.
Mr. Anibal Alcor, Manager of the plant, indicated:"... it is impressive to see that with so little product used, such big results could be obtained. This product also manages 19 days of shelf life, which might allow us to export to Europe. Additionally, we have managed to increase production during the winter season, which is when normally there is more incidence of illnesses. Also, we have decided to use this product exclusively in the irrigation for the entire plantation, as well as to clean all plumbing."
Our products, formulations, and application methods have shown proven success with disease resistance and pest prevention, and healthier, more robust plants. This is a bacterial issue and bacteria do not like oxygen. Due to increased oxygen levels and nutrient uptake derived from our product, any fungal or bacterial issues can be prevented or eliminated. We believe that you can counteract the cost of our product by eventually cutting back on fertilizers and pesticides.
The observations listed above are from specific situations, based on their own unique results and experiences. All water is different; every environment is different; every operator is different; every soil is different. And of course, each challenge of diseases or contaminants is different. But what we can guarantee is that you will immediately have clean, clear, nutritional water, and in a very short time, better results than without our applications. When your plants and soil have healthy, nutritional water it`s a good start. Raising the oxygen levels will further contribute to your overall production success.
