Can I mount harvester head on any excavator?
It's not accurate to say that you can put a harvester head on any excavator.
There are several factors that determine whether a particular harvester head can be attached to a specific excavator. Here are a few key considerations:
Size and Weight:
The harvester head must be appropriate for the size of the excavator. If the harvester head is too heavy, it could cause stability issues or damage the excavator. Conversely, a head that's too small might not be effective for the job.
Hydraulic Flow and Pressure:
The harvester head and the excavator's hydraulic system need to be compatible. This includes the hydraulic flow (measured in gallons per minute) and the hydraulic pressure (measured in pounds per square inch). If the harvester head requires more flow or pressure than the excavator can provide, it will not operate effectively.
Mounting System: Different harvester heads and excavators have different mounting systems. These systems need to be compatible in order for the head to be attached securely.
Control System:
Some harvester heads require specific control systems to operate. The excavator must have a compatible control system or be adaptable to one.
To determine if a particular harvester head can be attached to a specific excavator, it's best to consult the manufacturers' specifications or talk to the manufacturer or a knowledgeable dealer. They can provide accurate information based on the specific models you're considering.
