How to store feed pellet
During the rainy season, the air humidity is relatively high. If the feed is not stored properly, it is easy to become moldy and deteriorate. Various nutrients in the moldy feed are destroyed, the nutritional quality of the feed decreases, and even its utilization value is completely lost. After livestock and poultry eat moldy and rotten feed, toxins will accumulate in the animal's body, causing poisoning or even death of livestock and poultry, causing huge economic losses to enterprises and farmers that produce and operating feed, and affecting the development of feed industry and feed pellet machine. At the same time, the residues of mycotoxins and their metabolites in livestock products can cause serious harm to human health through the food chain.
How to store feed pellet
1. Strictly control the moisture content of feed products. Choose high-quality, low-water content feed products. Generally, the moisture content of grain feeds should be controlled below 13% to 14%. For example, the moisture content of corn should be below 12.5%. The moisture content of vegetable meal, bran, fish meal, etc. should not exceed 12%. The forage crops must be dried quickly after harvest, and the drying must be uniform and consistent. In the north, the moisture content of feed products must be controlled below 14%, and in the south, it must be controlled below 12.5%.
2. Control the temperature and moisture during processing in animal feed production line. If the heat is not completely dissipated during the processing of the feed, it will cause the moisture to condense and cause the feed to easily produce mold. Therefore, the feed should be cooled to below room temperature in time after processing, and packaged and stored after reaching the required water content.
3. Please pay attention to the storage, packaging and transportation conditions of feed products. also should control the temperature, humidity and ventilation conditions of the storage feed warehouse. The packaging of feed products should ensure good air tightness to cut off the air source of aerobic mold. The feed should be covered during transportation to avoid sun and rain to prevent mildew of the feed product.
4. In addition to the above conventional measures to prevent feed mildew, there are other methods. Such as: adding anti-mold agents, antioxidants, breeding anti-mold varieties, using mycotoxin adsorbents, ultraviolet radiation, etc.
