Water, why should I pay to fix it?
Water is the essential nutrient for greenhouses, plants, vegetables, fruit, flowers and all living things. However, it is always the last nutrient farmers want to spend money on to accomplish all its benefits.
Simple things like bacteria, electrical conductivity, iron, manganese, sulphates, algae, and funguses must be monitored and addressed. If you are not fixing your water, you are leaving a lot of money on the table and possibly wasting a lot of money.
Oxygen is equally as important as water. Life of all kinds cannot survive without oxygen. Oxygen is as critical as water. Water and oxygen contribute to nutrient uptake and enhance the process of nutrient uptake. Primary nutrients like carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium need water to carry them through the plant's cells and supply healthy growth
Plants are about 80-90% water and need water to transport nutrients and for cooling and photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis is a process used by plants to convert light to chemical energy through cellular respiration. The energy is released later to fuel the organisms and help the plant grow. The process is similar to a solar panel and batteries. The solar panel supplies the energy, and the battery stores it until you need to use it.
Water and oxygen can help fight diseases, pathogens, pests and inferior growth.
Finally, remember all life needs three things to survive and stay healthy.
- Oxygen - if we do not have oxygen, we only survive for 3 minutes.
- Water - if we do not have water, we will survive for 3-7 days.
- Food or nutrients- If we do not have food/nutrients, we will only survive for up to 3 weeks.
