Now, we’re turning that expertise to an ancient crop with GoodHemp. GoodHemp delivers superior emergence and growth characteristics, available as both seeds and transplant starts. Some GoodHemp varieties are also tolerant to a variety of diseases. Hemp has a long way to go to become an industrialized crop in the US. With inconsistent quality and significant waste, there is a burning demand for quality genomics and agronomic excellence. And with the recent USDA guidelines requiring the destruction of “hot crops” with more than 0.3% THC, unstable seeds can lead to huge losses for hemp farmers – losses that aren’t covered by crop insurance.

Rogue is a stable hybrid derived from inbred parent lines selected for yield and rapid plant growth. She has a loose plant structure and a round shape with impressive dense greenish-red flowers. Expect lots of dense medium sized flowers ideal for the flower market. Rogue also has the highest CBD potency of our varieties which makes her ideal for the oil market. All seeds come fully feminized.

Santiam was selected for high yield, consistency and early finishing. The result is a full-season hybrid with an upright conical structure and a surprisingly early finish for a full-season variety. Santiam provides large dense flowers with a pungent odor and beautiful pink pistils. Santiam is pound for pound our highest yielder of flower making it perfect for the flower market or biomass. All seeds come fully feminized.

Umpqua is our flagship variety. It is a stable hybrid derived from inbred parent lines with autoflower lineage giving farmers an early finish and provides consistent high yields. Umpqua has a Christmas tree-like structure with a dominant leader, tight internodes and produces tons of beautiful dense flowers. Umpqua has been grown successfully across the U.S. and is sought after for distillate and smokable flower for its consistent high amounts of compliant CBD.

Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid found in only a handful of plant-based oils such as borage, evening primrose, and black currant oil. Because of low concentrations of GLA in these sources, as well as inconsistent supply, we developed safflower plant varieties high in GLA. In 2012 we launched SONOVA GLA Safflower Oil to give consumers a new source for GLA – one that enables them to get the benefits of GLA by taking fewer capsules than other sources.
