The High Speed Servo Lug Loader is designed to improve productivity in timber processing facilities. It features five-lobed cams driven by an Allen-Bradley servo motor and gearbox directly coupled to the drive shaft. This eliminates the need for clutches or lumber hold-back arms that can interfere with board feeding when backlog is low or when skipping a lug is necessary. The system includes electronically variable timing that adapts based on product width and speed. Technical specifications include 81X declining backlog chains approximately 6 feet long, an air operated overhead hold-down mechanism, a backlog control photocell array, and fixed lumber stops. The loader also comes with an Allen Bradley ControLogix PLC, a Servo interface card, and pre-programmed software to ensure seamless operation. Notably, it is designed with US and Canadian patents pending.
