The generation of odor from urea and manure is propagated by ammonia gas, which is lighter than air and rises. In composting, BRZ™ captures nitrogen as ammonium before it vaporizes to ammonia gas. Ammoniated BRZ™ can be used as a high value fertilizer, and it helps prevent the leaching of the nitrogen to the groundwater. It also protects groundwater from nitrogen contamination.
