Cassia Tora belongs to the wild crop variety and Caesalpinaceae plant family and to cassia genus. Cassia Tora L( (Cassia obtusifolia L), Caesalpiniaceae, found in several part of India as a weed and all the parts of this plant like flowers, fruits and leaves stay unique. The seeds of Cassia Tora are rhombohedral and brown in color, about 30 to 50 in number. The plant bears flowers in the rainy season and fruits in the
winter.

The guar or Lond bean, with the botanical name Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, is an annual legume and the source of guar gum. It is also known as gavar, gawar, or guvar bean. Guar Seed refers to the bean or cluster bean of the Cyamopsis tetragonolobus plant. The plant is an annual legume primarily cultivated in India which can be eaten as a green bean. Guar (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub.) is an erect, bushy annual herbaceous legume up to 3 m high, with trifoliate leaves up to 10 cm long, and white or rose coloured flowers. The pods are straight, hairy, pale green, up to 12 cm long and contain 5 to 12 hard seeds (beans) each.

Cassia Tora Meal is a by-product formed by processing the seeds of cassia tora to remove the husk and germ from it. The removed husk and germ are called as cassia tora meal. The extracted Cassia Tora meal is further processed by toasting at a high temperature to remove Trypsin Inhibitor, thus improving its nutritive value.
