Length Grading Applications

25” Modular Disc Machine

The Disc Separator is designed for high performance, critical length sizing and the removal of oversized or undersized grain in one pass through the machine. As cereal grains pass through the machine, discs with indented pockets revolve through the material lifting that which fits into the pockets. Discs are available in solid or quick-change splits, grey iron or nickel plated, with a variety of pocket sizes to handle virtually any grain separation.

Agribusiness Products - Pre-cleaning Applications

Carter Day - Scalperator for High Capacity Scalping and Aspiration

The 48 Scalperator by Carter Day International is an advanced machine designed for processors requiring high-capacity scalping and aspiration in a compact form factor. It effectively handles grains, seeds, rice, and other free-flowing materials by integrating scalping and aspiration in a single pass. As incoming material flows through a rotating wire mesh or a perforated scalping reel, roughage and oversized components are removed, while light materials are eliminated by high-volume aspiration. This system is capable of reducing standard dockage levels in wheat and barley from 2 percent to as low as 0.25 percent, using near-size slots or round holes for detailed scalping. The equipments performance-engineered aspiration chamber, accompanied by a flow-modulated air valve, guarantees consistent product cleaning. Its simplified design ensures ease of maintenance and cleaning, making it suitable for various processing needs that demand precision and efficiency in pre-cleaning applications.

Carter Day - 24-Inch Scalperators for Grain Cleaning

The 24″ Scalperators feature scalping, rescalping and aspiration in a single machine to provide a high capacity method for removing roughage, light fines and chaff in a single pass. Incoming cereal grains pass through a rotating wire mesh scalping reel eliminating roughage and other oversized materials, a rescalping reel reclaims any good material from the overs, and high volume aspiration then removes the light materials. The 24″ models are available in closed circuit.

Carter Day - Scalper and Scalperator Grain Cleaning Systems

Carter Day International, Inc. offers advanced grain cleaning systems including their 24-inch Scalper and Scalperator models. The 24-inch Scalper is designed for efficient single-machine scalping, effectively removing roughage and oversized materials from cereal grains using a rotating wire mesh reel. An additional sand screen enhances its cleaning capabilities. The 24-inch Scalperator Low Profile extends these features with the integration of air, further optimizing the grain processing. The 11-inch Scalperator combines scalping, rescalping, and aspiration to efficiently remove roughage, light fines, and chaff. It features a rotating scalping reel and rescaling reel to recover viable materials, and employs high-volume aspiration to eliminate lighter particles. These systems support both closed and open circuit configurations, accommodating various operational needs. The available 24-inch and 11-inch models cater to diverse capacity requirements, ensuring comprehensive grain cleaning solutions.

Carter Day - Carter Day Trommel: High Capacity Screen Separator for Grain Processing

The Carter Day Trommel is engineered as a high-capacity cylindrical screen separator adept at handling initial or rough cleaning processes across a range of free-flowing granular materials such as wheat, oats, rice, corn, and various seeds. The machine incorporates a shaftless cylinder with choices of a 36 or 50-inch diameter. Its design includes 4 to 5 cylinder sections featuring patented screen segments that offer diverse combinations of sifting and scalping to meet varied application needs. A fixed slope of either 2° or 6°, with the option for adjustable telescoping legs, facilitates proper material flow. The unique cylinder arrangement supports effective segregation with larger debris expelled at the cylinder's end while finer materials exit via screen sections. This trommel can be outfitted with an aspirator for enhanced capacity. The robust drum design utilizes angle iron stringers and rods, ensuring durability and resistance to fatigue. Additionally, it offers a variable speed drive, powered by a 5 or 7.5 hp motor, adjustable from 17 to 34 RPMs.
