The workshop is the second in a series organised by CIWM and the Grantscape project: Market Development of Composts Derived from Different Organic Waste Streams. Delegates at the first workshop asked for a follow-up event with more time for delegates to debate and discuss the use of these materials. This second workshop is intended to provide a platform for these more detailed debates.

This half day workshop run by CIWM’s Biological Treatment Special Interest Group is run in conjunction with r3 environmental technology ltd and University of Reading. The aim of the workshop is to determine if there is a market for low grade compost that will arise from processes like MBT, and provides initial findings from a wider research project supported with a grant from GrantScape as well as further support from Essex County Council, The Forestry Commission and the F.A Bartlett Tree Expert Company.
