The role of the recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) is to maintain thewater quality of the aquaculture water body, so that indoor (factory) aqua-culture can be realized. The system is composed of several different equip-ments. According to the different objects to be treated, the treatment stepsare as follows: After the water leaves the fsh pond, it frst passes through amechanical flter to treat the large particles (greater than 80um) of solidwaste, such as fsh scale debris and residual bait; then enter the proteinskimmer to process some semi-soluble organic matter (greater than 30 andless than 80um), such as some colloids and fne particles; and then carry outnitrifcation and denitrifcation reactions through biological flters to solve theOrganic compounds such as ammonia nitrogen and nitrite (nitrite is a car-cinogen and poses a great threat to fsh). In addition to the above 3-stage fltration, according to the habits of thecultured species, the system can also add oxygenation equipment and tem-perature control equipment. In general, the signifcance of using the RASsystem is to provide a high-quality and controllable living environment forthe breeding industry, optimize production details and increase production.

The system takes protein skimmer, UV sterilization and bio filter as the core, and can separate and remove various pollutants in the water, such as fish excrement, etc., and supplement the beneficial substances through the biological culture bacteria to keep the water quality stable.
