Elevation Service
Using RTK technology Crop Quest can accurately (+-1”) map elevation changes. The resulting elevation maps can be used to develop variable rate seeding prescriptions and fertility management zones. Using elevation as a base to drape other layers also provides an excellent opportunity to analyze factors affecting yield. Adding 3D appearance to a map certainly helps to make these visual assessments simpler.
GreenSeeker Service
An excellent tool for determining plant health and color. By assessing crop vigor with a GreenSeeker Crop Quest agronomists can locate areas of exceptional and/or poor crop vigor. The next step is to figure out what is aiding/limiting the crop in those areas and what can be done from a management perspective. Typically GreenSeeker has been used to create in-season nitrogen recommendations for wheat. Research has also been ongoing in corn and sorghum. By comparing an N rich strip to the conventional fertility program an assessment of the crops potential nitrogen needs can be calculated. Recommendations for either uniform or variable rate applications can then be prescribed. In addition to the typical GreenSeeker uses, Crop Quest agronomists have also developed variable rate growth regulator prescriptions on cotton.
Grid Sampling Service
By precisely depicting soil variability in a field, Crop Quest agronomists are able to maximize fertilizer efficiency. Why place fertilizer where it is not needed? Grid sampling allows you to distribute fertilizer more efficiently by applying variable rates where needed. Not only does this have the potential to affect your bottom line but may also reduce environmental risks. Crop Quest has the technology necessary to generate variable rate prescription maps for virtually any input and any controller.
Weed Scouting Service
Our agronomists scout fields and identify weed problems that may be present. After fields are scouted, weed problems are noted and mapped on a client’s field report. When treatments are required, we recommend the best products and rates for control.
