The VSL 07 P is the lightest model in the Binger Seilzug range of Pre-Pruners. Counter-rotating shearing discs cut the vines at the desired height. The exposed shearing discs are not susceptible to blockage and so permit cutting back before the leaves have fallen. Two frame sizes permit nine different cutting lengths between 21 and 77 centimetres. This ensures optimum adaptation of the machine to existing vineyard configurations and training forms. The VSL 07 P is therefore just as suitable for cordon-trained as for cane-pruned vines. Its low weight makes the VSL 07 P suitable for use on steep slopes and in difficult terrain. The VSL 07 P is available with cutting lengths from 21 cm (2 x 4 cm) to 77 cm (2 x 12 shearing discs); there are 7 cm steps from one cutting length to the next. Adjusting to a different cutting length takes very little time.

Model VS 98 S is ideally suited for use where there is very vigorous canopy growth. To protect the wire trellis, the saw blades are surrounded by a screen and arranged on one side only. The staggered pressure discs continuously guide the vine stems to the saw blades and so ensure clean cutting. The VS 98 S is available with cutting lengths from 18 cm (three saws) up to 81 cm (ten saws) in steps of 9 cm or 12 cm.

For extreme canopy growth, we recommend Pre-Pruner VS 98 D. The cutting tools and their screens are arranged on both sides, and driven by four motors; they have no trouble with even the densest growth. Depending on the frame size and the number of cutting tools, the height cut can be 42 cm, 56 cm, 70 cm or 84 cm.

Finally a machine that not only tackles the last frontier of vineyard mechanisation, but also produces outstanding results. The unique technology of the ERO Cane Pruner has been developed to slash the costs and resource required during pruning, the most challenging of vineyard jobs. The machine works by seizing the fruiting wire, previously the main obstacle, and feeding it through a guide so that anything attached to it is removed. The wire is completely stripped of canes and bits of vine which are immediately mulched.

Optionally, the single-sided EB 490 Leaf Remover can be supplied with a 180° pivoted mounting and manual or hydraulic transverse shift. When the pivoted mounting is used in row widths of more than two metres, we recommend that the 30 cm extension fork is used.

The two-sided EB 490 Leaf Remover with hydraulic width adjustment as standard can operate in rows from 1.20 m to 2.40 m wide. The optional hydraulic height adjustment provides separate control of the height of each stripping head. This enables its use in terraced vineyards.

With the overrow Leaf remover, a complete row of vines can be stripped in a single operation. It is no longer necessary to drive along vine rows without ground cover under unfavourable weather conditions. The unit can be adapted to different thicknesses of foliage just by using the hydraulic controls.

Seven different cutting lengths from 100 to 195 centimetres enable its use in widely differing vineyards. The Elite Comfort model includes the Comfort Controller with joystick operation, so that just a single-acting control valve and a pressure-free return line are required on the tractor. The ERO Elite trimmer is available in L-form or over-row, in both one and two-sided versions.
