The drying and sanatizing of manure in tunnels is a technique developed by GICOM. By starting the compostingproces in the tunnels the manure is pasteurised and for an important part biologically dried. When the biology slows down the drying process is continued automatically with thermal heat. In several days manure is pasteurised and dried up to compost with a low moisture content. This pasteurised and dried material can than be processed into pellets or granular, after which the minerals in these pellets can be sold as a valuable and homogenous fertiliser.

GICOM arose in 1984 from the application of an innovative vision on mushroom farms. By GICOM developed applications in the mushroon growing market are based on expertise and experiences.nkers and indoor tunnels are build. Aeration takes place by using the by GICOM designed spicket system.

On an aerated bed of woodchips or compost cattle can be housed in a very clean and with better animal welfare. An important precondition for that is that the woodchips are constantly biologically kept dry and clean. Moisture has to be evaporated and drained off. GICOM developed for this the Spigotsystem. This aeration system takes care of a very even airdistribution and is also an efficient drainage system.
